“We have not lost two blue flags, because we only presented El Duque and Torviscas and they have renewed the flags; the beaches of Troya II and II and La Enramada did not opt for that distinction this year”, Adolfo Alonso, Councilor for Tourism of Adeje, in Onda Tenerife, clarified yesterday, for whom it is incorrect, therefore, that it is said that “Adeje lost two blue flags.
Like his colleague from Arona, Francisco Marichal, Alonso understands that the conditions to obtain the Blue Flag are “demanding”, although he acknowledges that services are maintained on the beaches of Troya, without mentioning the episodes of some spills.
Adolfo Alonso highlights the promotion of Adeje to the coast, giving as examples the actions in Playa Paraíso and La Caleta, recalling that “we have 26 bathing areas in Adeje and our commitment is to make them sustainable and visitable, according to the accommodation plan that we have in the municipality”, placing value on projects such as the bike lane, the productive forest and the agro-market, “despite many dissenting voices”, in relation to the environmental protests that are taking place today against the hotel complexes that are going to be built in The Port of Adeje.
Councilor Adejero also valued “the great project of the football and athletics stadium, with natural grass and an indoor pitch, with capacity for 10,000 spectators and 1,000 parking spaces. A project that will not only serve our athletes, but will also be a claim for international sports tourism”.
Alonso finished exposing the great change experienced by Adeje under the mandate of José Miguel Rodríguez Fraga in the Mayor’s Office: “Adeje today has a level of well-being that was unthinkable 30 years ago.”
