The mayor of Arona celebrates that Las Vistas and El Camisón maintain the blue flag

The Two blue flags that the beaches of Arona used to have will continue to wave for another summer. El Camisón and Las Vistas once again have this international distinction that certifies the quality of the waters, the high level of beach services and safety. This was made public on Wednesday by the organization promoting these awards, the Association of Environmental and Consumer Education (Adeac). The mayor of Arona, José Julián Mena, explained that repeating blue flags “is a source of pride for Arona, not only because of the dedication of resources involved, but also because it is an achievement of dozens of workers and thousands of neighbors. users of the beaches, as well as hundreds of thousands of people who visit us».

Similarly, the mayor for the Environment, Leopoldo Díaz Oda, celebrates the fact that Arona has once again obtained the recognition of the blue flags in El Camisón and Las Vistas, “once again emphasizing its quality and safety, and placing the beaches of Arona among the first in the Canary Islands. It is the award for an intense work that is carried out throughout the year.

In Search of Excellence

Along the same lines, the Councilor for Tourism, José Alberto Delgado, underlines the “importance” of the distinction, “since we are a tourist destination that seeks excellence and that dedicates public resources to improving day by day the quality of its waters and services provided to citizens.

In the year 2021 there were 16 Tenerife beaches with Blue Flags. This year four have left the list and none are from the municipality of Arona. These are Troya I and II, La Enramada (Adeje) and the Jardín and San Telmo beaches (Puerto de La Cruz). As for the marinas, the distinction of the Real Cul Náutico de Santa Cruz de Tenerife is maintained and the Puerto Deportivo de Los Gigantes loses it.
