Hemodonation reminds of the importance of donating blood of all blood groups

The Canary Institute of Hemodonation and Hemotherapy (ICHH)attached to the Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands, encourages citizens to donate blood of all blood groups in order to balance the reserves of the Canary Transfusion Center and not compromise hospital activity.

At this time, donations are needed from all groups, especially from O+, one of the most frequent among the population of the Canary Islands and, therefore, most used in hospitals.

Thus, and with the aim of facilitating donation as much as possible for the population as a whole, next week the ICHH will set up temporary extraction spaces in San Cristóbal de La Laguna, Güímar, La Orotava, Los Realejos, Adeje, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Agüimes, Teror, Telde, Santa Lucía de Tirajana, Tuineje and San Bartoloméin addition to the fixed points available throughout the Archipelago.

Requirements

To donate blood you can go directly or you can request an appointment by calling 012 or 922 470 012 / 928 301 012 (option 8), Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. or by filling in the form published on the cover of the web effect donacion.com. Before going to donate, it is advisable to review the information published on this same web page in the Information and Protocol tab, to familiarize yourself with the established security measures and answer the self-assessment test to check if you can donate blood.

The ICHH also reminds that people vaccinated against COVID-19, with both one and two doses and the booster dose, can donate blood after 48 hours of inoculation.

Where to donate in Tenerife

The mobile hemodonation unit will visit Güímar next week, located on Avenida de Santa Cruz, next to El Kilo stores, on Monday from 9:15 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. and from Tuesday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 8:45 p.m.

On the other hand, the Colegio Pureza de María de Los Realejos will receive a visit from the ICHH on May 16 and 17 from 9:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Monday and until 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

In the south of the island, an ICHH extraction team will be operating at the Las Torres Sports Center Pavilion, at 4 Tágara Street, on Tuesday, the 17th, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.

As of Wednesday the 18th, a temporary donation point will be set up at the San Jerónimo de Taco Citizen Center, on Calle Dona, number 20, in San Cristóbal de La Laguna. The schedule will be Wednesday and Thursday from 3:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Friday from 8:45 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 3:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Finally, within the framework of the campaigns that the ICHH organizes with the Ministry of Defense, on May 18 and 19, a hemodonation team will visit the Los Rodeos Barracks to attend to the base’s troops during the morning.

In the north, the fixed donation point located in La Orotava, on the first floor of the Multicentro Comercial El Trompo (Sector 10, Las Arenas, exit 36 ​​of the TF-5) is still active from Monday to Thursday from 4:15 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.: 30 and Friday from 9:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

As for the fixed points, in Santa Cruz de Tenerife you can donate at the ICHH headquarters on calle Méndez Núñez, number 14, from Monday to Friday from 8:15 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. and from 3:15 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. hours (except holidays).

In the southern region, the fixed point of the San Isidro Health Center, in Granadilla de Abona, is operational from Monday to Thursday from 1:15 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Friday from 8:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (except holidays) . Both points have a ford reserved for donors.

And as far as the fixed points of the Canarian Transfusion Network are concerned, at the University Hospital of the Canary Islands you can donate without an appointment from Sunday to Friday and holidays from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and on Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. 2:30 p.m. and from 3:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. As for the Hospital Universitario de Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria, you can donate without an appointment from Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., except holidays. It has a ford reserved for donors.

Where to donate in Gran Canaria

Monday of next week will be the last day that blood can be donated in the municipality of Agüimes. This temporary point will be operational on the second floor of the La Zafra Shopping Center, local 17, in front of the municipal offices, on Avenida de Ansite, 113, at Cruce de Arinaga from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. 8:00 p.m.

On the other hand, in the capital of Gran Canaria, the extraction room is maintained in Pavilion 7 of the Institución Ferial de Canarias (Infecar), on Avenida de la Feria. At this point you can donate blood on Monday and Tuesday from 3:45 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and from Wednesday to Friday from 8:45 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 3:45 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

From Monday to Thursday, a blood donation team will tour the different phases of the El Goro Business Park, in Telde, to facilitate donations to companies in this industrial area. The donation schedule will be from 9:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Meanwhile, the donation room set up in a local Alcampo de La Mareta Shopping Center, next to the lottery administration, will be operational on Monday and Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:45 p.m.

Also during the next week, a new donation campaign will begin at the Town Hall of Teror, on Calle Padre Cueto, number 2. The hours will be from Tuesday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from 4:15 p.m. 8:30 p.m.

Finally, in Santa Lucía de Tirajana, the El Doctoral Health Center, in the maternity ward, on Calle Secundino Santana, number 5, will host a blood donation team on Tuesday 17 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. 3:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

And in this same municipality, the donation room installed in the premises in front of the Parque de la Libertad (below the Peace Courts) in the Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente Park, will be operational on Wednesday from 4:45 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday from 4:15 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Friday from 9:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

As for the fixed blood collection points, the ICHH makes its headquarters available to the population at calle Alfonso XIII, number 4, in the capital of Gran Canaria, from Monday to Friday from 8:15 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. 3:45 p.m. to 9:15 p.m., except holidays (it has a ford for donors).

You can also go to other fixed points of the Canarian Transfusion Network such as the Maternal-Child University Hospital of the Canary Islands from Monday to Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.; the Hospital Universitario de Gran Canaria Dr. Negrín from Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and the Hospital Universitario Insular de Gran Canaria, where you can donate from Monday to Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., except holidays (it has a ford for donors in all cases).

Where to donate in Fuerteventura

Next Monday it will be possible to donate in Tuineje, in Gran Tarajal, in Plaza Tran Tran, on Atis Tirma street. Hours will be Monday through Thursday from 4:15 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. and Friday from 9:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.

In addition, throughout the year you can donate blood at the General Hospital of Fuerteventura, where the fixed blood donation point of the Canarian Transfusion Network on the Island is located. This point is operational from Monday to Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. :30 hours. To donate, it is convenient to request an appointment at the number 928 546 684.

Where to donate in Lanzarote

Next week, the blood donation room set up in the Deiland Shopping Center, in the cafeteria-rear area, on Calle Chimidas, number 20, in Playa Honda, will remain operational. Hours will be Monday through Wednesday from 3:45 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. and Thursday and Friday from 8:45 a.m. to 1:45 p.m.

In addition, the fixed blood donation point of the Canarian Transfusion Network at the Doctor José Molina Orosa University Hospital remains operational. The hours at this point are Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. To donate it is necessary to make an appointment in advance at the number 928 59 55 72 option 3.

Where to donate on La Palma

The University Hospital of La Palma has a fixed collection point where you can donate by appointment from Monday to Sunday, including holidays, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., prior appointment request by calling 922 185 312 or 922 185 320.

Where to donate in El Hierro

The Hospital Insular Nuestra Señora de los Reyes has a fixed collection point where you can donate on Mondays from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (except holidays), by appointment by calling 690 886 059 or 922 553 500 .

Where to donate in La Gomera

The Hospital Insular Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe has a collection point where you can donate blood from Monday to Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and on Thursdays and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (except holidays). It is necessary to make an appointment in advance by calling 922 140 200 or 922 140 213 or by completing the appointment form at effectdonacion.com
