SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 12 May. (EUROPE PRESS) –

The Cabildo de Tenerife has expressed this Thursday its condemnation for the sexist murder of a woman in the south of Tenerife by calling a concentration at the main door of the Insular Palace.

The act, which was presided over by the insular president, Pedro Martín, and by the CEO of Equality and Prevention of Gender Violence, Priscila de León, was attended by representatives of the political groups of the corporation, as well as personnel from the Cabildo, who they showed their unanimous rejection of the violence and their support and solidarity for the relatives and people close to the victim.

Martín has commented that it is necessary to avoid that a crime like this “becomes news that by repeating it is not important” and hopes that the minute of silence will serve to “make the new generations aware” that combating gender-based violence “is a struggle permanent that never ends”.

Along these lines, he has indicated that “it involves educating people” in values and in “respect for others” since “a society can only be free and happy if it eradicates sexist violence.”
