Possible light and occasional rains in the western islands in the first half of the day, which in the early hours could be more intense and in the form of a shower, and temperatures with little change or slightly rising, more significant in the maxima. That’s the forecast Meteorology Statal Agency (Aemet) for Friday, May 13 at Canary Islands.

The wind will be weak, variable, with a predominance of the north component and in high areas it will blow from the southwest with probable occasional very strong gusts in the central peaks of Tenerife.

As for the state of the sea, it announces a northerly component wind of force 3 or 4 and a variable force of 1 to 3, curly sea or swell and locally swell. There will be a swell from the northwest with waves of 1 to 2 meters.

The weather forecast for this Friday, by islands, is as follows:

LANZAROTE

Cloudy intervals of medium and high clouds, and some interval of low clouds on the west coast in the early hours. In the afternoon the clear ones will predominate. Maximum temperatures with few changes and minimum in slight decrease. Variable loose wind with a predominance from the northwest, punctually somewhat more intense in the extreme northeast and southwest. Breezes on the south and east coasts.

FORECAST MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM TEMPERATURES (°C):

FUERTEVENTURA

Cloudy intervals of medium and high clouds, and some interval of low clouds on the west coast in the early hours. In the afternoon the clear ones will predominate. Maximum temperatures in slight rise and minimum with few changes. Variable light wind with a predominance from the northwest, punctually somewhat more intense in Jandía and inland areas. Breezes on the south and east coasts.

GRAND CANARY

Cloudy intervals of medium and high clouds, accompanied by some intervals of low clouds in coastal areas during the first half of the day. In the afternoon the clear ones will predominate. Low probability of some light and occasional precipitation during the morning. Minimum temperatures with few changes and maximum in slight rise, being more significant in interior areas. Variable light wind with a predominance of the north component, somewhat more intense on the east and west coasts. In summits, wind from the west to southwest from weak to moderate. Breezes on the north and south coasts.

FORECAST MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM TEMPERATURES (°C):

Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, 18 24

TENERIFE

Cloudy intervals of medium and high clouds, accompanied by some intervals of low clouds in coastal areas, mainly in the early hours. Cloudy skies will prevail in the morning and clear skies in the afternoon. Chance of light and occasional precipitation during the first half of the day. In the early hours they may be more intense and in the form of a shower, especially in high areas where they could be accompanied by an isolated storm. Temperatures with few changes or slightly rising. Variable light wind with a predominance of the north component, punctually somewhat more intense in the northwest and southwest extremes. Breezes on the north, east and south coasts. In central summits, occasionally strong southwest wind, with very strong gusts that can exceed 80 km/h.

LA GOMERA

Cloudy intervals of medium and high clouds, accompanied by some intervals of low clouds in the north, mainly at dawn. Chance of light and occasional precipitation during the first half of the day. In the early hours they may be more intense and in the form of a shower. Temperatures with few changes or slightly rising. Variable loose wind with a predominance of the north component, punctually somewhat more intense on the southwest coast. In summits, wind from the west to southwest from weak to moderate. Breezes on the north and south coasts.

FORECAST MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM TEMPERATURES (°C):

San Sebastian de la Gomera 20 25

THE PALM

Cloudy intervals of medium and high clouds, accompanied by some intervals of low clouds in the west and north. Cloudy skies will predominate at the beginning and clear ones from noon. Chance of light and occasional precipitation during the first half of the day. In the early hours they may be more intense and in the form of a shower, without ruling out that they are accompanied by an isolated storm. Temperatures with few changes or slightly rising. Variable light wind with a predominance of the north component, punctually somewhat more intense in the extreme southwest. Coastal breezes. In summits, wind from the west to southwest from weak to moderate.

FORECAST MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM TEMPERATURES (°C):

Holy Cross of the Palm 18 23

THE IRON

Cloudy intervals of medium and high clouds, accompanied by some intervals of low clouds in the north, mainly in the early and late hours. Cloudy skies will predominate at the beginning and clear ones from noon. Chance of light and occasional precipitation during the first half of the day. In the early hours they may be more intense and in the form of a shower, without ruling out that they are accompanied by an isolated storm. Temperatures with few changes or slightly rising. Variable light wind with a predominance of the north component, punctually somewhat more intense on the east coast and in the extreme west. Breezes on the north and southwest coasts. In summits, wind from the west to southwest from weak to moderate.
