SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 12 May. (EUROPE PRESS) –
Ashotel collaborates with the association Solidaridad con La Palma within the framework of the ‘Sonrisas por La Palma’ initiative, promoted to program free stays in hotels in Tenerife during the months of May and June for minors affected by the La Palma volcano.
The objective is none other than to ensure that these boys and girls can leave their environment for a few days and disconnect in Tenerife. So far, the association has provided five groups of between 25 and 30 children between the ages of 8 and 12, from the municipalities of Los Llanos de Aridane and El Paso.
Ashotel has coordinated the selfless gesture of associated establishments, including the Bahía Príncipe Sunlight San Felipe hotel and the El Tope hotel, in which the association has already closed the first stays, and whose deadline is still open for the incorporation of new establishments.
The ultimate goal is to bring some happiness to these minors, who have been immersed in a very complicated environment due to the volcanic eruption. In these stays the minors will be accompanied by several teachers and other monitors, coordinated by Solidarity with La Palma.
The first group arrived this morning at Tenerife North Airport accompanied by several monitors and will stay from today until May 14 at the Bahía Príncipe Sunlight San Felipe. The next one will be from June 2 to 4 at the El Tope hotel. Another group that will stay at the Alua Tenerife, all in Puerto de la Cruz, is also pending.
During their three-day stay they will visit the Palmétum, in Santa Cruz de Tenerife; the Museum of Science and the Cosmos, in La Laguna, as well as the Loro Parque, in Puerto de la Cruz. In addition, they will attend charitable talks, storytelling and other workshops.
Ashotel has been collaborating with different social organizations linked to La Palma. Already in December, together with the Salud Mental La Palma organization, he managed free stays in hotels in Tenerife for those affected by the volcano.
The initiative of Solidarity with La Palma, in collaboration with Ashotel, has been well received by several associates of the hotel management. The Association estimates the extension of this ‘Sonrisas por La Palma’ program based on the success and the demand of new groups, with the sole objective of helping the greatest possible number of affected children.
