SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 12 May. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Government Delegation in the Canary Islands has confirmed this Thursday that the murder of an 83-year-old woman allegedly at the hands of her husband on Wednesday afternoon in Arona is a case of gender-based violence, once the Police investigation has advanced National.
The events occurred around 4:30 p.m. when the National Police agents appeared at a house, as a result of neighbor calls to 112, and found the body of the woman, with stab wounds, along with her husband .
The 84-year-old man is in a health center under police custody to recover from his injuries.
The couple was in the south of the island spending a vacation season and there are no complaints of gender violence.
The Cabildo de Tenerife and the Arona City Council have held rallies this Thursday and a minute of silence in rejection of the events.
