SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 12 May. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Canarian pianist Alexis Alonso and the Madrid-born flutist, saxophonist and composer Jorge Pardo have joined forces on the ‘La vida en el agua’ tour that will cover the Canary Islands and the Peninsula starting on May 26.
The show, which combines sensitivity, strength and emotion, will stop in four islands of the archipelago and in five cities of the Peninsula, including Madrid and Barcelona, starting at the Guiniguada Theater in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
Added to this concert are dates in Tenerife, where the concert will be recorded live in audio and video at the Adán Martín Auditorium, La Gomera, Lanzarote, Barcelona, Valencia, Madrid, Tarragona and Zaragoza.
Alexis says of Jorge Pardo that he is an artist “with his own name” on a national and international level who has rubbed elbows throughout his career “among greats such as Camarón de la Isla, Paco
of Lucía, Chick Corea or Gil Goldstein, among many other brilliant musicians of international stature who move in the ‘crème de la crème’ of jazz”.
Pardo is one of the great exponents of the fusion between jazz and flamenco and is a safe and elegant accompaniment for duos, trios and bands.
The two came into contact last year for a collaboration on a song from Alexis Alonso’s latest solo album ‘Love in floating bridges’, precisely called ‘La Vida en el Agua’ and as a result of that the link and one more step is taken to plan this tour.
“Honestly, since we started working together, everything has come about very naturally with great enthusiasm and the desire to create and present the best possible music to create an experience
truly unforgettable”, affirms the composer from Tenerife in a statement.
In addition, he points out that “now that the capacity is back to normal and that everything is recovering, I notice that there is a special emotion in rediscovering sounds and once again feeling something that musicians and the audience are passionate about, live music.”
