The Prosecutor’s Office of the Provincial Court of Santa Cruz de Tenerife requests a sentence of 12 and a half years in prison for a man for suffocating and causing the death of a woman in a local Costa del Silencio shopping center, on the Arona coast, in December 2020.
The qualification letter, collected by Europa Press, points out that the man and the woman, in the company of a third person, were in the premises for several hours drinking alcohol until at one point, when they were left alone, a strong discussion began. and beats her repeatedly and violently to finally strangle her and cause her death due to encephalic anoxia derived from mechanical asphyxiation due to compression of the neck.
The accused hid the lifeless body in the establishment until days later he dragged it wrapped in a blanket to one of the interior corridors of the shopping center, where it was finally located.
The man is in prison for these events that the Prosecutor’s Office considers to constitute a crime of homicide, for which it also requests the payment of compensation of 300,000 euros for the heirs of the victim.
The trial, with jury courtstarts next Monday in the second section of the Provincial Court.
