The The Staircase Cultural Collectivewith the collaboration of the Cultural Heritage area of the Municipality of La Orotavahas organized for this Saturday May 14 at 11:00 a.m. a new edition of the act of representation of the traditional tasks in the historic san francisco wash houses. The objective of this day is to rescue, preserve and spread the traditional culture of the municipality of La Orotava.
La Escalera intends to periodically carry out this staging in the Los Lavaderos space, in the street Dr. Domingo González García, “which witnessed so many hours of work for centuries”. Since 2004, these laundries have been a cultural space. The objectives of The Staircase they are to contribute to the conservation of nature and promote the approach to the recovery of the ecological balance; rescue, preserve and spread traditional culture; participate in activities that encourage constructive behaviors, solidarity and commitment attitudes to achieve a better quality of life; promote cultural, recreational and training activities that favor the development of a participatory and democratic society, and put into practice activities that stimulate creativity, cooperation and the development of a critical spirit.
