The January XII Friendship Circle will host the presentation of the book ‘Cuerpo de Ausencias’, by Carmen Paloma Martínez, edited by Escriba entre las Nubes. The event will take place at the Recreo headquarters on Ruiz de Padrón street in Santa Cruz, this coming Friday, May 13, starting at 7:30 p.m., with free admission.

The act will be presented by Felicidad Batista, writer and president of ACTE Canarias, while the play will be presented by the poet Rosa María Ramos Chinea. The act will feature a performance by the violinist, and also a writer, Clara Rufino.
With a degree in tourism business management, Carmen Paloma Martínez was born in Madrid, although part of her childhood was spent in Andalusia. She has lived in Havana (1989–2003) and in Tenerife since 2005.

She has written poetry since she was a child and won some prizes in this genre in her adolescence. She is a lover of art and culture in all its manifestations, especially literature, music and plastic arts, she has studied piano and electric guitar as an amateur.
Its first publication dates back to 2012 and several collections of poems have been published since then. Likewise, his participation in several anthologies of poetry and stories stands out in his career.
‘Cuerpo de Ausencias’ is his most recent collection of poems (April 2022), preceding it ‘Salitre’, published in December 2017. He continues to work on ‘Cuentos de La Habana’, a compilation of personal experiences lived during his stay in Cuba.
He has been a columnist for the magazine I am a woman and radio talk show host, as well as former president of the Cultural Association Women’s Meeting in Arona. He is a member of the RIET (International Network of Writers for the Earth), as well as the poetic group Voices from the Intimacy since its creation in 2015.
Actively participates in recitals, reading clubs, events and literary projects.
He is part of the current board of directors of ACTE Canarias-Canarian Cultural Association of Writers.
