A 52-year-old woman has been arrested as the alleged perpetrator of a crime against public health after upon arrival at Tenerife South airport they found 6.5 kilograms of cocaine that was impregnated in her clothes, the Civil Guard reported Tuesday .
The intervention that has led to the arrest of this woman, of Venezuelan nationality, occurred when agents of the Civil Guard who were carrying out a random prevention service on people and luggage verified that the one of the now detained woman consisted of two suitcases that presented a rigid excessive for the material with which they were made.
The Civil Guard has indicated in a statement that, in addition, the two suitcases gave off a strong smell of chemical products, so tests were carried out on the luggage fabric.
These tests showed a positive result for cocaine, with a total weight of the drug of 6,500 grams, which is why the agents proceeded to arrest the woman as the alleged perpetrator of a drug trafficking crime.
