The Stap union says that there is no evidence of the use of an earpiece in the oppositions to Tacoronte Local Police

The so-called Pinganillo Case, due to the alleged use of this device to try to copy an opposition to the Local Police in Tacoronte, takes a new turn and the Union of Workers of Public Administrations of the Canary Islands (Stap Canarias) denies the majority and ensures that «no There is no evidence that the indicated person used any earpiece or any other irregular element, a circus has simply been set up because a call came to the mobile of an opponent, who was next to those of the other applicants many meters away. Stap Canarias, through Domingo Chávez, informs that he has decided to defend the aforementioned opponent “because he is a relative of a member who has asked our legal services for help.” And he also warns that “some are going to have to prove everything they have said without having any proof.”

“There is something here that smells strange. These systems are reprehensible, but in the case of Tacoronte we understand that there has been absolutely none of that. A circus with the theme of the earpiece has been set up, but later we found out that the mobiles were removed and placed at a huge distance. One rang and a member of the court took it and put this whole thing together. Trade unions, after analyzing everything, we cannot collaborate so that false accusations are made against anyone, because this can also have subsequent consequences for certain people who are suffering a media crucifixion by being presented as criminals and scoundrels, “says Chávez.

«Where is the evidence of guilt for everything that is being said? There is nothing at all. Our legal services are going to request all the court records through the courts to check if they are consistent with reality or if someone dares to say something nonsense. They accused a boy that he left the exam unwell. Of course, he got upset when he saw that they were manipulating his phone and they were violating his rights », insists this union.

Domingo Chávez emphasizes that his union is against “any type of cheating in oppositions” and asks for “all the transparency in the world”, although he clarifies that “in so many years we have lived through so many situations that we see that only sometimes a circus is set up . Although there have been much more scandalous moments out there with politicians or members of courts involved.

Stap Canarias considers that once the testimonies of people present at the beginning of the controversy have been analyzed, “there are things that are not clear and here each stick that holds its candle. Before setting up a circus, you have to be very clear that these accusations are well founded.

Despite the fact that the person affected is not a member of Stap Canarias, only a relative of a member, this union has decided to “take measures in defense of legality and the rights of those offended.” In his opinion, “the one who gives the information publicly is reckless and is going to have to answer for”, supposedly, “falsely accusing without being able to prove anything he is saying. That’s the situation.”

“If there was any evidence and the fraud was proven, obviously the person affected would have to assume the consequences, but in this case not only is there no evidence, but the accusation continues without retracting,” says Chavez. And he adds that “this is complicating everything because we are even wondering if someone is interested in specifically harming this designated boy, who seems to want to prevent him from opposing and approving on his own merits.”

Stap Canarias criticizes the mayor of Tacoronte, José Daniel Díaz (NC), “who has said nonsense that does not stand up, so we are waiting for him to take this matter to the Prosecutor’s Office so that we can appear in person and demand that the evidence of the accusations that are leaving a person in such a bad place. According to this union, the opponent accused of copying through an earpiece “was searched, but they found nothing; They treated him like a criminal. It was somewhat inappropriate, but that also allows us to blatantly prove that there was nothing. What are they going to accuse him of? Where is the earpiece? They will have to provide it. Where are those recording and broadcasting devices? They would have to credit him, but that will not be possible, so what are they going to accuse him of? There is no proof of anything. It is a bizarre situation and we could not be part of this without intervening ».

Chávez understands that “someone is going to have to retract everything that has been said and assume responsibilities, even perhaps the imputation of some crime. The media damage that has been done to these opponents is serious, because their presumption of innocence has not been respected. You can’t brand a person without evidence.”

Sources from the Tacoronte City Council assure EL DÍA that at least until last Friday they had not received the final act from the court of the opposition paralyzed by this incident, which will be resumed next July.
