There are about 500 applicants for each of these two selection processes.

Regarding the selective process of 14 vacancies in Local policetests will be held on May 24, 25 and 26 in the facilities of Ivan Ramallo Olympic Stadiumon Puerto Cruz street, in the municipality of Los Realejos.

The councilor of Human Resources of the Porto City Hall, David Hernandez (ACP), highlights that more than 500 applications have been submitted for each of the processes. Hernández points out that these processes respond to the objective of gradually filling the civil servant positions that have become vacant in recent years in the Porto Town Hallin order to improve internal organization and meet the needs of the different services provided to citizens.

“We will take all necessary measures to avoid the occurrence of any type of irregularity or trap in the opposition processes. We will outsource to prevent illegitimate means from being used in the exams,” Hernandez warns. The mayor prefers not to detail the fraud prevention measures that are going to be applied, but acknowledges that after the controversy that arose in the selective process of local police officers in Tacoronte, “we have sat down to talk and seek solutions in this regard.”

David Hernandez recognizes that carrying out these selection processes for new personnel of the Porto City Council “is very complex”, but “it will allow for a more balanced List of Job Positions (RPT) and endowed with sufficient personnel to cover services such as the Local Police or for improve efficiency in administrative processingwhich is something fundamental for the City Council and the municipality to function”.
