SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 5 May. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Deputy Minister of the Presidency of the Government of the Canary Islands, Antonio Olivera, said this Thursday that the human and material resources of the General Directorate of Coasts on the islands are “insufficient”, which is why the transfer of powers by the State is delayed .
In a press conference to give an account of the agreements of the Governing Council, he commented that both governments negotiate intensely and the objective of the regional Executive is “to achieve the best possible conditions” to provide competition with all appropriate means.
Olivera has denied that there is a “discrepancy” between governments but understands that “there are basic problems” linked to the fact that the Costas media are “very depleted” because the workforce “has been decapitalizing” due to the personnel freezing processes and adjustments arising from the financial crisis of 2008.
Thus, he pointed out that in the Canarian Government “they do not change forecasts or objectives” – July 1 is maintained as the date – and specified that “it is worse to develop skills without means and in a bad way.”
