The formation sees in this movement “a new desperate attempt” by CC to generate “a false sense of political instability” within the island government, although Ciudadanos is also claimed as a counterweight.

He assures that his external support “has given strength” to the government team in the Cabildo, “attracting the PSOE to the left and counteracting the counterproductive effect of neoliberal policies” practiced by Ciudadanos.

Sí Podemos Canarias rules out the possibility that a question of trust could be “favorable to CC” and considers that the “new stratagem” of the nationalists “is showing the seams”.

The party, in addition, ratifies its refusal to support the amendments to the remainder of the insular budget and the inclusion of the motor circuit project, on which it is “flatly against” and which has also been rejected by CC, despite having defended in previous legislatures. This change of mind has been criticized by Pedro Martín, who has accused the nationalists of using strategies to “generate conflict” in the institution.

Podemos has explained its rejection of this project by highlighting that it “is founded and justified on the basis of the sustainable development policies that we defend for Tenerife”. And he adds that “the veto” of Vice President Enrique Arriaga, of Ciudadanos, prevented a transactional amendment proposed by Sí Podemos from being voted on so that those almost 6 million euros consigned to this infrastructure were allocated to expand the public housing stock of Tenerife.

Regarding Arriaga’s words about requesting an extraordinary plenary session on the remainder of the budget, Sí Podemos Canarias affirms that “overcoming the obstacle of the motor circuit” they are willing to support the inclusion of the remainder of the budget.
