The Crosses Adorned on Facades Contest this year 2022 took place this Tuesday, May 3, on the occasion of the celebration of the Day of the Cross in the municipality. On this occasion, about 50 crosses participated in the different modalities: individual or private, groups and/or associations, as well as educational centers. The contest is integrated into the programming of the “Crux22” event, organized by the Santiago del Teide City Council itself.
After the visit of the jury appointed for this purpose, in the individual category the first prize, worth €200, went to Gustavo Hernandez Linaresthe second prize of €150 went to Alicia Leon Fleitas and the third prize, €100, went to Maria Candelaria Martin Medina.
In the category of associations and/or groups, the winners were in the first place the San Fernando Rey Parish in Santiago del Teide, in second place, was awarded to the Parish of Our Lady of Carmen in Puerto de Santiago, and, lastly, third place was occupied by the Our Lady of Candelaria Parish in Arguayan. The prizes that this category receives are €400, €200 and €100 respectively.
Finally, in the category of educational centers, the first prize went to the CEIP José Esquivel of Puerto de Santiagothe second prize went to CEIP Aurelio Emilio Acostafrom Arguayo, and in third place was the CEIP Feliciano Hernandez from Santiago del Teide. As for the prizes that this category receives, they are €300, €200, and €100, respectively, which can be exchanged for teaching material.
The Crux22 Awards ceremony will take place this Thursday, May 5, at the Social Center of Tamaimo from 8:00 p.m., where the minutes will be read and the different prizes of the Facades Adorned Crosses Contest will be awarded. which will feature the performance of the group “EntreVoces” with their show called “Imagina”
