
The City Hall of Santa Cruz de Tenerifethrough the Autonomous Organization for Festivities and Recreational Activities, OAFARhas announced the winners of the different crosses contests on the occasion of the celebration of the May festivities.
The cross made by the San Gerardo Neighborhood Association won first prize in the Natural Flowers Contest. The second prize went to the Tamaragua Cultural Center; while the third was obtained by the Neighborhood Association La Era and El Trigo.
The honor roll was completed by the San Roque Neighborhood Association, with the fourth prize; and the Santa Cruz de Llano del Moro Neighborhood Association, which won fifth place.
The crosses were valued by a jury made up of the Craftsmanship technician of the Cabildo Insular de Tenerife and maker of flower crosses, Juan Carlos Camacho González; the senior technician in Applied Arts, window dresser and expert in floral art, Moisés Norberto Pérez Carrillo and the designer and artist linked to the May Festivities, Francisco Javier Romero Martín.
In the XIV Contest-Exhibition of School Crosses made with recycled material, the first prize went to the Hispano Inglés school, and the second to the Hermano Pedro CEE; both centers in the Primary and Special Education modality.
In the category of Preschool and Infant, the awards went to the Hogar Escuela María Auxiliadora and the Hispano Inglés school, which obtained the first and second prizes, respectively. Lastly, the Secondary and Adult Education centers that received the award were Escuelas Pías, first prize; and Hogar Escuela María Auxiliadora, the second prize.
The specialists in charge of awarding the prizes are the Bachelor of Fine Arts, illustrator and designer, Evelyn Reiriz Vieira; the graduate in Applied Arts, Cristina Rodríguez Mijares; and the graduate in Fine Arts and graphic designer, Esther Rufino García.
