It was seen coming. The Santa Cruz de Tenerife Magicians’ Dance, which was held this Monday as part of the May Festivities, was a resounding success: the chicharrera party became the first massive act in the Canary Islands, thanks to the participation of some 14,000 people , distributed between the streets of Antonio Domínguez Alfonso (La Noria), Nifú-Nifá street, Campo Castro, Bravo Murillo street, as well as in the Europa and Iglesia de la Concepción squares.
While folk music and the best Canarian cuisine gathered at the more than 650 tables made available to the public, on the stages arranged in the Plaza de Europa, in the Charco de la Casona and in the Campo Castro, the Taifa dance and the traditional verbena livened up the night.
As of 10:00 p.m., the parrandas of Tonique, Nijota, Gualhequeya, Peña del Lunes, AC Bienmesabe and Farutes del Atlántico were already playing. While the Taifa Dances were led by Tajaraste, Princesa Dácil, Aceviños and Chácaras and Drums of Garajonay. After concluding these performances, in the Charco de la Casona, the traditional verbena began in which the Sonora Olympia and Malibú Band orchestras participated, in addition to the DJ Renzo el Selector.
