The City Council of Arico will invest 15,846 euros, within the Investment Plan + ariquero que vez, to install two bicycle repair totems and six parking stands with the aim of boosting and supporting “the large number of cycling fans in the town”.
The bicycle repair totems will be located in Villa de Arico and Porís de Abona. They will facilitate the repair of bicycles with the tool that is required. It will have a QR code to link a video tutorial for its use. The instructions will be in Spanish, English and German. In addition, the five car park supports will be located in Villa de Arico, Arico Viejo, Porís de Abona and El Río.
The Councilor for Sports, Andrés Martínez, points out that this action responds to “one of the greatest demands of cyclists who pass through our municipality”, a place that registers a large influx of practitioners of this sport. “We understand that these facilities are fundamental and a service to an important group.”
Andrés Martínez says that the initiative also emanates from the Ayosa Cycling Club, from Arico, “with which we maintain a close relationship and that conveys the main demands in this matter to us.” The councilor responsible for the Arico Sports area maintains that “we follow a clear roadmap that includes improving sports infrastructure as essential.”
