This Tuesday, May 3, 2022 they start at Los Silos the VIII Environmental Conference of the Low Island, which will take place in the four municipalities of the region until next Saturday. On Wednesday 4 they move to Garachicoon Thursday 5 at El Tanque, on Friday 6 at Goodview of the North and on the last day, Saturday 7, the acts return to Los Silos. This year’s motto is The challenge of biodiversity conservation and its contents will address issues on botany, fauna, land management, recovery of degraded spaces, sustainable companies, the Teno Rural Park or the impact of exotic species.
These sessions are supported by the Consortium of Isla Baja, the Cabildo de Tenerife area and the municipalities of the region. The inaugural conference, this Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. in the old convent of San Sebastián, is entitled The botanical treasures of Tenerife and will be in charge of Jose Garcia Casanova. Later, at 8:00 p.m., the documentary is broadcast dreaming wings.
On Wednesday 4, the Stone House of Garachico, will be the scene of various workshops (from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.) and a discussion on environmental restoration of Canarian ecosystems (from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.). On Friday the 6th, in Goodview of the Northis celebrated on Meeting of Sustainable Entrepreneurs of Isla Baja, from 9:00 to 11:00; more workshops, and the discussion on biodiversity in the Teno Rural Park, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
On Saturday, May 7, there will be an ethnographic route through High Teno, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.; another route through the Charcas de Erjos, from 9:00 to 12:00; an electric bike ride; family workshops from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in Plaza de La Luz. In the afternoon the group of Nature Photographers of Tenerife will be presented, there will be Storytelling in Green and the conference will close with a round table on the impact of exotic species on biodiversity and the delivery of the award for environmental work Piedra de los Cochinos.
