
The Sports City of Valle San Lorenzo is almost a reality. It is a large area in the center of one of the largest population centers in the region that is called to become, as reported by the Arona Town Hallin an example of integration of sports infrastructures.
The project, promoted by the Department of Works, integrates the facilities of the battlefield, the Óscar Pérez Barrios football field, home of the CD San Lorenzo Constanciacompletely rehabilitated according to the needs that both neighbors and users and the club’s board of directors had transferred to the City Council, and the new sports pavilion, an architectural jewel whose design has even won architecture awards, such as the NAN Architecture 2020. A large and modern multipurpose space built with the collaboration of the Cabildo de Tenerife and which is a catalyst for transformation in the area.
As reported by the City Council, it has opted for an urbanization in accordance with the needs of the residents and will provide this area of the middle of one of a parking area.
In addition, it will also provide public lighting, landscaped spaces, a bus stop and a promenade adapted for the transit of people with reduced mobility, thus complying with the Regulation for the Suppression of Architectural Barriers.
José Julián Mena, mayor of Arona, stated that “the new Sports City of Valle San Lorenzo will be a shock to the middle of the municipality. These works are an example of the work and effort that is being carried out by the City Council to promote public investment and to provide Arona with new public spaces that benefit and improve the lives of its neighbors”.
