
The Area of Highways and Mobility of the Council of Tenerife will continue working on the rehabilitation of the Autopista del Sur (TF-1) from this Sunday until next Thursday and will focus the improvement works on four different junctions, which will cause power cuts traffic on the TF-1.
Specifically, the points where they will act will be South Airport (59), Costa Adeje/La Caleta/Fañabé (78), Adeje (79), Las Nieves/Los Olivos (79B) and Los Menores/Armeñime/Playa Paraíso (81) .
The Island Councilor for Roads, Enrique Arriaga, explained that the comprehensive rehabilitation of 40 kilometers of this road is “an example of sustainable intervention by reusing 50% of the asphalt”.
The work, carried out by Sacyr, will carry out traffic closures on the TF-1 in both directions. Specifically, the improvement actions will be carried out at night, between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., so that inconvenience to users is minimised.
To guarantee the safety of the area, the Highway Area will enable different detours. The works on Sunday night will consist of the repair of the deceleration lane of junction 59 in the south direction, by cutting the right lane from kilometer point 58.6 to 59.2, south direction.
All traffic cuts on the TF-1
Thus, vehicles heading towards Adeje and wishing to access the South Airport should continue to the San Miguel/Los Abrigos/Las Galletas junction (62), make a U-turn and return towards Santa Cruz to the airport grounds. Those who want to go south from this area will have to head north to the Polígono Industrial de Granadilla junction (52), where they can change direction.
On Monday night, the works will be carried out on the 79B link. The traffic closures on the TF-1 will be carried out in the exit lane of the same and the deceleration lane of junction 81 will be closed in a southerly direction, so that people who go to Guía de Isora and want to access one From these nuclei, they must continue to the Vera de Erques junction (87) and change direction. As for the vehicles that wish to go to Adeje from Los Menores, Armeñime or Playa Paraíso, they will have to access via link 79.
On the night of Tuesday 2nd, Wednesday 3rd and Thursday 4th of May, the improvement actions will be carried out from kilometer point 80.6 to 77.2, as well as in the branch of incorporation of link 81. For this, cuts will be carried out of traffic on the TF-1: junctions 78, 79 and connection to the motorway of junction 81 will be closed in the direction of Santa Cruz.
On this occasion, vehicles driving towards the capital and wishing to access La Caleta, Fañabé or Adeje must continue to the San Eugenio junction (75), make a U-turn and return to junction 78. In addition, vehicles Those who want to go in the direction of Santa Cruz from the affected areas will have to exit towards Guía de Isora until junction 87 and change direction.
These works are part of the TF-1 resurfacing plan that has been carried out since last April and which includes an execution period of approximately fourteen months. In total, the works, carried out by Sacyr, will comprise nearly 40 kilometers of the road between Adeje and Arico.
