SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 30 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Isla Bonita Moda program (IBM), developed by the Council for Economic Promotion of the Cabildo de La Palma through the public company Sodepal, has become part of the Spanish Federation of Clothing (Fedecon) with the aim of promoting sales abroad and increase the competitiveness of palm companies.
Fedecon, created in 1977, is the representative and coordinating entity at the national level of the clothing companies and related industries for the defense, promotion and representation of their common socioeconomic interests, of which important companies and institutions at the national level are part.
The Minister of Economic Promotion, Raquel Díaz, has highlighted that in the first four months of this year they have managed to establish important alliances with the most relevant entities at the national level within the fashion and clothing industry. “This new agreement established with Fedecon accentuates our commitment to the generation of a strategy of professionalization and growth of the creative and textile sector of La Palma with which we hope to continue increasing the competitiveness and projection of the sector”, she indicated.
This new agreement with Fedecon will allow Isla Bonita Moda companies to access a plan of activities for 2022 that includes specific actions in the area of information and communication, foreign promotion and training actions and activities in the labor and industrial area, “an important roadmap that complements the set of actions developed directly by Sodepal through Isla Bonita Moda”, highlighted Raquel Díaz.
ALLIANCES WITH NATIONAL ENTITIES.
From Sodepal, through the Isla Bonita Moda program, several alliances have been forged this year with national entities with the aim of implementing a strategy that contributes to the professionalization, marketing and internationalization of companies in the sector.
One of these agreements is the one signed with the Sustainable Fashion Association of Spain (AMSE), whose objective is to continue developing actions that contribute to promoting and consolidating sustainability as one of the strategic points of the insular fashion plan of La Palma.
In this line of work, an agreement has also been signed with the Spanish Association of Products for Children (ASEPRI), thanks to which companies specializing in the manufacture and sale of children’s and youth fashion garments will have the opportunity to participate, among others actions, in a virtual B2B showroom oriented to the European and UK market with access to more than 2,500 contacts of potential buyers.
In terms of professionalization, the Isla Bonita Moda program formalized in February a unique agreement in the Canary Islands with the Textile Technological Institute (AITEX) that will allow companies to improve their level of specialization thanks to the extensive experience of the entity’s experts, helping them to meet with the currently established European parameters as well as to expand their knowledge about the manufacturing materials and their correct application in the final product or the regulations regarding product labeling and control.
