SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 29 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –
Since last Tuesday, the Canary Islands have registered 971 new positives in COVID-19 among people over 60 years of age, which is the population group that is followed up after passing the acute phase of the Pandemic.
Likewise, the Islands have registered a total of nine deaths in the last three days, of which six were reported in Tenerife and three in Gran Canaria. The deceased, aged between 77 and 96 years, had previous pathologies and were hospitalized.
This has been reported by the Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands, following the new indicators included in the Strategy for Surveillance and Control of COVID-19, agreed by the Ministry of Health with the autonomous communities.
The accumulated number of cases of coronavirus among people over 60 years of age amounts to 56,102 people in the Canary Islands. Thus, the Cumulative Incidence for this age group at 14 days stands at 735.70 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and at 7 days at 358.96.
Currently, in the Archipelago there are 288 people admitted with coronavirus, of which 13 are in the ICU and the rest, 275, on the ward.
