The City Council of Santa Cruz had approached the Cabildo so that it would assess developing the management of Las Teresitas through a Project of Insular Interest and thus avoid having to wait for the new General Plan to be approved to undertake the improvements that the beach needs. Finally, the Island Corporation has rejected the proposal and has done so arguing that it does not see that the settlement of Las Teresitas beach is of interest to the island.
This has been confirmed by the Councilor for Urbanism, Guillermo Díaz Guerra, who regrets that the Cabildo does not see the importance of a beach that, he recalls, is visited by thousands of tourists every year. Faced with this refusal, the mayor admits that he is evaluating retaking the processing of the Las Teresitas Special Plan independently of the PGO. The beach will be the protagonist today in the Plenary, where CC has a motion to demand that Costas respond to the requests to renew the concession.
