The PSOE proposes David Alonso as a candidate for Mayor of Icod in 2023

The general secretary of the PSOE of Icod of the Wines, Gerardo Rizowill propose to the members of the new Municipal Executive that the PSOE candidate for Mayor of the Municipality of Icod de los Vinos in the municipal elections next year 2023 be the young David Alonso, 31 years old. In 2019, the candidate for Mayor was Juan Miguel Martin Zarza, which only achieved 3 councilors and 12.8% of the votes. His rival in the socialist primaries, Xavier Sierraended up forming Alternativa Icodense and obtained five mayors and 21.22% of the votes.

The PSOE informs that in a meeting held in the days prior to the assembly on April 22, Gerardo Rizo announced to the members of the future executive the name of David Alonso as a future candidate, emphasizing “that in recent months we have been working together and I am totally sure and convinced that David Alonso is the candidate that the PSOE needs to recover our political hegemony and opt to govern our municipality again, since he represents the freshness of youth and has all the enthusiasm that this game needs»

David Alonso Socasborn on July 3, 1990 in Icod of the Wineshas been closely linked to the Icodense Sports Union, a club where he has been a coach for 12 years. For five consecutive seasons he was coach of the first team, which played two promotion promotions to the Third Division and one Heliodoro Cup final. In addition, David Alonso has been part of groups such as the murga Ni Pa Tantoof which he was president for a year, and music groups such as That’s how they are either Plan B.
