The judicial authority has estimated the report of the Public Prosecutor in favor of this measure. González, in addition to having to deposit 50,000 euros, must appear daily in court and deliver the passport. He is prohibited from leaving the national territory.
Likewise, the magistrate has provisionally released the alleged perpetrator of the crime, EIOH, with a bail of 10,000 euros and the same precautionary measures. Also in this case, a report from the Prosecutor’s Office favorable to such a measure is taken into account.
In the order it is pointed out that, with regard to the risk of subtraction from the action of Justice, “it must be taken into account, on the one hand, that the crime imputed to him is serious, and the existence cannot be forgotten. of a correlation between the seriousness of the crime and the risk of absconding. But, on the other hand, the advanced state of the case must be considered, the time spent in prison and that the risk of leaving Spain to evade the action of justice can be avoided with the withdrawal of the passport and the prohibition to leave the territory. national. There is also no evidence of a special risk that it will obstruct the investigation in the current state of the case.”
Two shots to the chest and one to the head.
It should be remembered that Carlos Machín, partner of Evaristo González, was responsible for the nightclubs of La Laguna Kapitel and El Palco when he was murdered, in April 2018, around 10:50 p.m. in the parking lot of the Official Language School of La Laguna, in the neighborhood of La Verdellada. Machín received two shots, one in the chest and the other in the head, although witnesses heard up to eight shots.
The businessman of the night was one of the people who was involved in the Corredor case, which splashed in a separate piece the president of the Canary Islands, Fernando Clavijo, when he was mayor of La Laguna and which was archived just before the regional elections of 2015 by canceling some telephone conversations captured by the Police that compromised him. The Corredor case uncovered an alleged criminal organization aimed at hiding benefits and defrauding Social Security and which was led by businessman Evaristo González.
The health services that arrived at the scene found Machín in cardiorespiratory arrest and performed advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers without success.
That same night, a Renault Clio car with false license plates appeared completely burned in the area of the Museum of Sciences and the Cosmos, in the Gracia neighborhood. This vehicle is believed to be the one used by the alleged perpetrators of the crime to flee and that it was set on fire to destroy possible incriminating evidence.
Evaristo González’s arrest took place several months later, at the end of May 2019, accused of being the alleged intellectual author of the murder.
