SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 25 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Ombudsman has initiated an ex officio action requesting information on the death of a minor in the Valle Tabares Center for Minor Offenders, in La Laguna, on April 18.
The institution has requested information from the Ministry of Social Rights, Equality, Diversity and Youth of the Canary Islands about the circumstances in which the minor’s death occurred.
Thus, she wants to know the actions carried out by the Ministry and by the center where she was hospitalized and has requested information on the suicide prevention protocol, she reports in a note.
Likewise, the Ombudsman has addressed the State Attorney General’s Office to find out about the actions followed by the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the Juvenile Court or the Guard Court.
