
Tegueste continues to celebrate its festivities in honor of San Marcos. After an intense Sunday in which, although there was no pilgrimage, some 5,000 people, according to official sources, participated in the procession and enjoyed the carts and carts, yesterday the municipality experienced other of its traditional acts for these holidays: the blessing of the cattle and the celebration of what is known as Carter’s Day.
Thus, the day began with the parade, from the Los Zamoranos farm, and the blessing of the cattle before the saint, an act organized by the Boyeros Villa de Tegueste Cultural and Recreational Association and in which 35 yuntas, six horses, 10 donkeys participated. , 80 goats and three Presa Canaria dogs, according to data provided by the City Council.
Later, in the surroundings of La Placeta, the celebration of Carretero’s Day began, with the exhibition of the 14 carts and carts made this year, for which tents were also set up next to each cart so that the carters could gather and enjoy this day. The carts and boats will still remain on display in the square until this Thursday. The day concluded with the procession from the parish of San Marcos Evangelista, accompanied by the musical group San Marcos Evangelista.
The festive programming will continue in Tegueste until the beginning of May, being next Saturday, the 30th, one of the most anticipated by the neighbors with the celebration of the Magicians’ Ball, both tickets and table reservations for this act being sold out; while the day before, next Friday, the popular festival will take place.
