A 61-year-old man has been hospitalized in critical condition after suffering a cardiorespiratory arrest when he was in a local in Arona, south of Tenerife, The Emergency and Security Coordination Center 112 reported this Sunday.
The incident was recorded on Avenida de Los Playeros in Los Cristianoswhere the emergency services went after receiving a notice that a man needed medical assistance after suffering a fainting in a local.
A person who identified himself on the spot as a doctor verified that the affected person was in cardiorespiratory arrest and began to perform resuscitation maneuvers.
Subsequently, the staff of the Canary Emergency Service, who moved two ambulances to the scene, confirmed that the affected person remained in cardiorespiratory arrest, continued to practice basic and advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers, applied several shocks with the defibrillator and managed to recover his pulse.
Once stabilized, he was transferred in a critical condition in a medicalized ambulance to the Hospital Universitario Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria.
The National Police also intervened at the scene of the incident.
