The Punta del Hidalgo hikebetter known as Camino de San Juanito, has achieved for the second consecutive year the quality distinction of blue trail.
This has been reported by Municipality of La Laguna (Tenerife), who adds that it is an award that the Association of Environmental and Consumer Education (Adac) grants routes and landscape elements that contribute to the sustainable use of the coastline.
The mayor, Luis Yeray Gutiérrez, has indicated that the organization has already communicated to the City Council that the itinerary will receive the certification again, the delivery of which will be made official in an act that will take place in Madrid next month, for which he hoped that “soon ” it is known if the three bathing areas will be able to display the blue flag.
“We trust that they will be revalidated one more year in Bajamar and Arenisco and that we will obtain it for the first time for Jóver, because we understand that it meets the required criteria”, he pointed out.
reconnaissance of the Punta del Hidalgo walk
Gutiérrez pointed out that the recognition of the Punta del Hidalgo walk represents “a new accolade to the work that has been carried out by the Government team to protect and enhance our coastline, with a natural and landscape wealth that we must safeguard and promote, so that it can be enjoyed by citizens in a healthy and respectful way with the environment”.
To do this, he alluded to one of the “priority” works of the Corporation, the preliminary project to recover the ecosystem of this part of the coast, made up of six differentiated actions estimated at 3.5 million euros.
