The Youth area of the Cabildo and the Association of Young Entrepreneurs (AJE) promote and protect the entrepreneurship of the youngest through fifty workshops in six municipalities until July 27. The councilor of the insular area, Concepción Rivero, points out that the objective of the project In search of the entrepreneurial gene is to support the professional development of youth, both so that they acquire a vision of the business fabric, and so that they obtain tools for entrepreneurship.
The first action of the initiative is the creation of a training itinerary to be developed in youth spaces on the Island with which to connect the youth of Tenerife with entrepreneurs who help them develop the skills and attitudes to acquire to start a business.
Concepción explains the details together with the island director, Isabel Bello, and the president of AJE Canarias, Agoney Melián. They break down the different activities and training, with 48 workshops in total, which will take place until July 27 at the six locations that the Ponos program, where the idea is framed, has on the island of Santa Cruz, La Laguna, Candelaria, Arona, Guia de Isora and Los Realejos.
Councilor Rivero explains that this project not only encourages entrepreneurship, but also will allow the best integration of young people taking advantage of their great talent. To which she adds that “if we help them grow and develop their ideas, Tenerife will also grow and employment will be promoted”.
For her part, the insular director recalls that In search of the entrepreneurial gene is part of the Ponos program, a project of orientation and employment opportunity for young people focused initially on employment, but in which entrepreneurship is also addressed. Bello adds that “it is not just about training but also about connection between those young people who want to undertake and those who from the business world will share their experiences.”
The president of AJE Canarias, Agoney Melián, explains that the initiative will carry out the training itinerary throughout the island with four stages. In the first of them, To be or not to be an entrepreneur, real cases of entrepreneurship will be presented as examples.
In the second chapter, Talentometer, concepts about talent, individual analysis and personal development will be worked on.
The third of the scheduled episodes, entitled Create and create your idea, will work on different business models.
Finally, the fourth will be an open day with a practical visit to different companies in operation.
