SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 22 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –

The Parliament of the Canary Islands hosted this Friday the presentation of ‘Agrocanarias.tv’, the new program dedicated to the agricultural and productive sector of the islands that will be broadcast every Saturday at 2:00 p.m. on Canarian Television.

This new television space, the result of an agreement between Radio Televisión Canaria and the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of the Government of the Canary Islands, is the final result of a contest carried out by GMR Canarias (Rural Environment Management) with the support of small producers from all the islands that collect information on the sector for weekly content.

After a rigorous selection contest, to which more than twenty companies applied, there were finally six production companies that won their respective lots (Gastucom/Tourimedia, for Gran Canaria; Alventio Audiovisual, for Fuerteventura; Producciones Ibora, for Tenerife; Insular Video, by Lanzarote; MediaRook Producciones, by La Palma and Creaccion.Tv, in the coordination tasks), whose objective is to inform about the primary and agri-food sector of the islands from various topics, with special attention to the entrepreneurial nature of the sector, the application of new technologies, generational change and the cultural, social and gastronomic wealth of the Canary Islands.

The Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of the Government of the Canary Islands, Alicia Vanoostende, together with the sole administrator of Radio Televisión Canaria, Francisco Moreno, and the gastronomic journalist, Francisco Belín, presented the objectives of a program that “every week will tell the potential and the entrepreneurial projection of a strategic sector for Canarian society”.

The Minister of Agriculture stressed during her speech that the main objective of this program is “to publicize the reality of the Canarian countryside, all the work behind the products that we later see on the supermarket shelves, because it is essential that the consumer values the product and the people who make it possible”.

Along these lines, he pointed out that this space “will enhance the innovation, entrepreneurship and rural development that exists in the Canary Islands”.

For his part, the head of the public entity explained that it is a program “that is not only designed to be seen by the primary sector, but so that everyone sees themselves reflected in a sector that must be helped, its vocation is value some islands that live off the landscape, and there is no landscape without agricultural activity”.

Belín highlighted “the commitment to a conceptually different format, which aims to make spectacular places in the Canary Islands visible, as well as the people who are part of and dedicate their lives to the sector, will be able to enjoy an agile, entertaining space that is worth seeing “.

PREMIERE, SATURDAY, APRIL 23

This Saturday, starting at 2:00 p.m. (before the news), the first program of ‘Agrocanarias.TV’ starts, which, after its broadcast, will have a notable presence on social networks as well as on different local television channels in the Canary Islands that will broadcast every week this new space.

The broadcast season will have 39 chapters, with an average of 10 reports per program throughout the 30-minute duration.

A team of professionals made up of 25 people, distributed by islands, participate in the preparation of this choral program where ‘Kilometer 0’ is the main protagonist.
