SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 21 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Insular Institute of Social and Socio-Sanitary Care (IASS) of Tenerife will allocate 80,000 to emergency aid for users of its Childhood and Family Unit.
This line aims to promote the social integration of former and former foster youth after reaching the age of majority, as well as facilitating the family reintegration of children and adolescents who have left the foster care system.
The Minister of Social Action of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Marián Franquet, explains in a note that in the case of users who are still minors and are in a situation of abandonment or residential care, these aids will go to those relatives or close people They will take care of your guardianship.
“The objective is to help meet the different needs of boys and girls, favoring their reintegration into families and contributing to the normalization of their situation,” he says.
With regard to young people in care who have reached the age of majority within the protection system, these grants aim to contribute to their social integration, avoiding situations of need or social emergency.
Franquet comments that “we must prevent those young people who turn 18 and are forced to abandon this type of resources for minors from feeling a sense of helplessness or vulnerability.”
Likewise, the counselor alludes to the promotion of the independence of these people and assures that the institution must be “a springboard for them, helping them to achieve their aspirations and integrate satisfactorily into society”.
Among the requirements to obtain this subsidy is participation in the Family Care and Intervention Project, in the areas of intra-family relationships, parental/maternal skills, specific needs of children and adolescents or promotion of sources of support.
In addition, in the case of ex-guardians who were fostered minors in a center of the Residential Foster Care Network, it will be necessary for them to be actively participating in the follow-up carried out by the unit’s team of professionals.
The application model and the bases will be available to interested persons in the General Registry of the IASS, on the Institute’s website (http://www.iass.es/) or at the Citizen Services Center of the Cabildo de Tenerife.
The term for their presentation will remain open until October 31 and these will be resolved before December 4, 2022.
