SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 21 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The president of the Congress of Deputies, Meritxell Batet, co-chairs this Thursday a solemn plenary session of the Parliament of the Canary Islands on the occasion of the commemoration of the 40th anniversary of the approval of the first Statute of Autonomy and the constitution of the Chamber.
The president will be received in the courtyard of the main entrance at 10:30 am by the president of the Canary Islands, Ángel Víctor Torres, the president of the Chamber, Gustavo Matos, and members of the Bureau and the Board of Spokespersons.
After the institutional photo, the session will begin in the Plenary Hall in which Batet and Matos will intervene.
Next, the president will meet with the Table and Board of Spokespersons and, at the end, will hold a meeting with Matos in his office, where he will sign the Book of Honor.
The President of the Parliament highlights the importance of these forty years of self-government in the Canary Islands, “which have meant the period of greatest social, economic and cultural prosperity for the islands”, and also highlights the “important work of so many people who have made possible.”
