The Canary Islands end the warnings for rough seas and wind after reaching gusts of 103 kilometers per hour

The General Directorate of Security and Emergencies of the Canary Islands Government will deactivate at 00.00 hours on Thursday, April 21 the pre-alert (yellow warning) for strong winds in all the Autonomous Community of Canary Islands, effective from midnight last Monday. At the same time, the yellow warning for coastal phenomena in the Archipelago, which affects the Islands from 8:00 p.m. on Monday, will no longer be active.

In the last few hours there have been gusts of up toat 94 kilometers per hour in the Archipelago. It is the case of The Village of San Nicolas (Gran Canaria), according to the measurement of Meteorology Statal Agency (Aemet) at 12:30 p.m.

on the island of Gran Canaria There have also been gusts of 83 kilometers per hour at 5:30 a.m. last morning in Aguimes. With a somewhat similar speed the wind has blown today in arure (La Gomera), 82 kilometers per hour, at 00:40 hours this Wednesday, and in Tejeda (Gran Canaria) when 80 kilometers per hour were recorded. In Step (The Palm), there were 78 kilometers per hour at 0.10 hours.

However, the strongest streak in the Canary Islands since last Monday took place in Izana (Tenerife), when they reached 103 kilometers per hour at 2:40 p.m., according to the Aemet station in that area.

As for the weather forecast for thursday, the skies will be cloudy in Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, tending to cloudy intervals in the afternoon. It will also be cloudy in the north of the islands with greater relief, with probable weak rains, tending to cloudy intervals starting at noon. In the rest of the areas, slightly cloudy, tending in inland areas from midday to cloudy with probable light rains.

Temperatures will experience no change or will be slightly lower. The wind will blow from the moderate northeast, with some strong intervals at dawn on the northwest and southeast slopes of the islands with greater relief, decreasing and turning north in the afternoon.

Lanzarote

Cloudy tending to cloudy intervals in the afternoon. Unchanged temperatures. Moderate northeast wind with occasional strong gusts in interior areas, decreasing and turning north during the afternoon.

Fuerteventura

Cloudy tending to cloudy intervals in the afternoon. Temperatures with little change. Moderate northeast wind with occasional strong gusts on the west slope and Jandía peninsula, decreasing and turning north during the afternoon.

Gran Canaria

In the north and east, cloudy with probable light rains, tending to cloudy intervals during the afternoon. In the rest, slightly cloudy tending from midday in the interior of the southern slope to cloudy with probable light rains. Temperatures without changes, in slight decrease in the southern half. Moderate northeast wind, with some strong intervals on the southeast and northwest slopes, decreasing in intensity and turning north in the late afternoon.

Tenerife

In the northeast, cloudy with probable light rains, tending to cloudy intervals starting at noon. In the north, cloudy intervals. In the rest, slightly cloudy tending from midday in the interior of the south and west slopes to cloudy with probable light rains. Temperatures without changes in the northeast and low areas of the island, and in slight to moderate decrease in the rest, especially in central peaks. Moderate northeast wind, with some strong interval on the southeast slope, decreasing intensity and turning north during the afternoon.

The Palm

In the north and east, predominance of cloudy skies, with probable light rains in the early and late hours. In the rest, slightly cloudy tending from midday in the interior of the south and west slopes to cloudy with probable light rains. Temperatures without changes or in slight decrease. Moderate northeast wind, with some strong interval in the extreme southeast and northwest during the early morning, decreasing intensity and turning north in the afternoon.

La Gomera

Cloudy intervals in the north. Little cloudy in the rest, tending from midday in the interior of the southern slope to cloudy with probable light rains. Temperatures without changes or in slight decrease. Moderate northeast wind, with some strong interval on the east slopes and turning north during the afternoon.

Minimum and maximum temperatures in San Sebastián de La Gomera 17 21

The iron

Cloudy intervals, with probable light rains in the north in the first and last hours. Temperatures without changes or in slight decrease. Moderate northeast wind, with some strong intervals on the southeast and extreme west slopes, decreasing in the afternoon.
