The Department of Works and Infrastructures of the Municipality of La Laguna has already drawn the first lines of what will be the largest sports complex in the Northeast Region. The organization of the plot where the future facility will be located, a plot of 18,128 square meters next to the Izquierdo Rodríguez Football Field, in Tejina, has been reflected in the master plan, a technical document in which the distribution of the spaces and the estimated execution budget, valued for the time being at 11 million euros, according to what the City Council reported yesterday.
The mayor of La Laguna, Luis Yeray Gutiérrez; The mayor responsible for the area, Josimar Hernández, and the Councilor for Sports, Idaira Afonso, went yesterday to the Tejina citizen center to present the design proposed in this preliminary phase to neighborhood representatives, clubs and sports groups in the area.
The local councilor valued this “so fruitful” meeting, because “it has allowed us to present the first ideas of what will be one of the most complete and modern sports complexes in the municipality, share and learn about the different points of view and collect the demands of the people involved”. In addition, he added that it is “a first contact” to continue the process with which “we want to achieve a consensual design that really responds to the needs”. For his part, Josimar Hernández explained that the plot chosen for its location “is a plot of land that is already conditioned by the soccer field and that has great potential to develop an idea like this, with which we will respond to local demand” .
The mayor specified that the technical document “details aspects such as the distribution of spaces and buildings, taking into account the current stand, a four-stage plan for its execution and a calculation of costs, estimated in this first phase at 11,193 .722 euros”. The area contemplates in its budget this year 115,000 euros for the execution project.
The Councilor for Sports stressed that the master plan “will give rise to a much-needed facility for the entire Northeast Region”, and that it will have “a multi-purpose pavilion, outdoor areas also used and with connectivity to the football field”.
The multipurpose pavilion provides for the practice of rhythmic gymnastics, martial arts, boxing, climbing and other disciplines. It will also have stands, offices for clubs, public toilets, etc. The outdoor spaces are aimed at people of all ages and, separated by sectors, there will be a calisthenics area, a skating circuit, climbing, archery and a path.
