The Guillermo González Municipal School of Music, dependent on the Autonomous Organization of Musical Activities of the City Council of La Laguna (OAAM), keeps the enrollment period open for the 2022-2023 academic year until April 25. The bases of the call, as well as the pre-registration model, are currently available on the municipal website: https://www.aytolalaguna.es/servicios/cultura/escuela-de-musica/.

The application for a place is made in person at the center’s headquarters, on Nava y Grimón street

During the next course the School will continue to teach the disciplines of Music and movement for children between four and seven years old, and trumpet, clarinet, saxophone, flute, piano, guitar, percussion, violin, cello and musical language for students from eight years. From eleven you can choose to teach modern bass, modern guitar, drums and modern harmony; while young people over fourteen years of age may enroll in electronic media.

The president of the OAAM, Yaiza López Landi, affirms that “the work carried out at the Guillermo González Municipal School of Music is essential to facilitate access for citizens, and especially for the new generations, to musical practice and learning , always under conditions of equality for the entire population. The center’s director, David Martel, adds that the educational program includes a playful, emotional and creative component, largely adapted to the needs of the School’s students.

Those interested in taking these studies may request their place in person at the headquarters of the School of Music, located at Calle Nava y Grimón, number 22, from Monday to Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Pre-registration can be made in up to three specialties.

The allocation of vacant places will be through a computer application

The procedure for awarding vacant places will be carried out through a public draw that will be held through a computer application to guarantee the maximum transparency of the process. Candidates registered in La Laguna will have preference. Thus, the list of candidates for a place will be published on May 13 on the notice board of the School of Music, as well as on the City Council website. Specifically, the draw will take place on May 17, 2022 at 10:00 a.m.
