The City Council of Santiago del Teide has announced the program of events for the new edition of the CRUX22 event, which is celebrated on the occasion of the Day of the Cross, and which will have the town of Tamaimo as its epicenter from April 29 to May 7 .
The event will feature acts, among which the exhibition of crosses and the contest of crosses adorned on facades, the Ruta de la Tapa, the Ruta de la Cruz, among others. The exhibition of crosses will take place between April 29 and May 6, in the public Plaza of Santa Ana in Tamaimo. In addition, the Ruta de la Tapa this year has seven establishments that will offer a wide variety of tapas, with prices ranging between €2.50 and €4.50.
On April 29, at 6:00 p.m., the exhibition of decorated crosses will be inaugurated, which will include a Fado recital called “Fado Nocturno” by the artist José Félix Álvarez.
On the other hand, the Route of the Cross is also organized, on Sunday, May 1, which will begin in the Plaza de El Molledo, and end in the Plaza Pública de Santa Ana. The tour will last approximately four or five hours. , and the difficulty it presents is medium-high. In addition, there will be activities such as the music recital “Día de la Cruz”, on Tuesday, May 3 in the Plaza de Santa Ana starting at 6:00 p.m., which will feature performances by Benito Cabrera and José Manuel Ramos with the show “Étnico” and a show by the Santiago del Teide School of Music. On May 4, the 2nd Patrimonial Conference “Senses and Discernments of the Cross” will be held at the Social Center of Tamaimo.
On Tuesday, May 3, the evaluation of the Jury of the VII Contest of Crosses Adorned in Facades will also be carried out, whose decision will be communicated virtually. The awards ceremony for the contest will take place at the Social Center of Tamaimo, on Thursday, May 5, starting at 8:00 p.m., accompanied by the concert of the group Entre Voces, with the show “Imagina”.
