SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 18 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The City Council of Los Llanos de Aridane has ceded to the Ministry of Housing of the Government of the Canary Islands a piece of land owned by the municipality for the construction of a permanent, non-modular or removable public housing building, and which will be made available to those affected by the volcano.
The mayor, Noelia García Leal, explained that this action “responds to the commitment that this government team has with people and their well-being”, to which she adds that they will continue working “to offer the best solutions to families, with the so that they can have their homes as soon as possible,” he assured.
The Councilor for Urban Planning, Manuel Perera, indicated that the site has 1,210 meters and is located on Los Arrieros street, in the neighborhood of La Montaña de Tenisca. “It was acquired by the City Council with 100% municipal resources with the aim of building public housing and offering a housing alternative to Aridan families,” he explained.
In addition, he added that after the circumstances that have arisen since last September with the volcanic eruption, this site, on which a building with up to 22 homes can be built, “is ceded to the Government of the Canary Islands so that they can be offered to the affected families who lost their first-occupancy homes,” he clarified.
In addition, he wanted to remember that this transfer was approved in the municipal plenary session in November last year and is added to the two lands that are in the Jable area and the four houses of the Casa de Los Maestros, also ceded by the City Council to the Government of the Canary Islands.
From the City Council they remember that collaboration between administrations is essential “to continue working on the reconstruction in which the municipality is already immersed”.
