A hiker is injured in a fall in Las Cañadas del Teide

A 53-year-old man has been moderately injured after a fall in Las Cañadas del Teide. The hiker had to be rescued by the GES helicopter and transferred in an ambulance from the SUC to the Hospital Universitario Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria.

According to the Canary Islands Emergency Coordination Center, at the initial moment of assistance, the man presented a moderate lower limb injury.

The 112 was alerted around 2:00 p.m. of the fall and firefighters and personnel from the Red Cross ERIE unit traveled to the scene, who reached the affected person and after verifying his injuries requested the activation of the GES helicopter for his evacuation from the scene.

The Local Police also intervened in the event, in addition to the Tenerife Fire Department, the Emergency and Rescue Group (GES) of the Government of the Canary Islands or the Canary Emergency Service (SUC): basic life support ambulance.
