The Roads Area of the Cabildo de Tenerife will continue during the next week with the work of comprehensive improvement of the pavement of the TF-5. On this occasion, the work sections will focus on the access links to the Vía de Ronda, in the municipality of La Laguna, and the Casa Cuna, in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
The island councilor for Highways, Enrique Arriaga, explained in this regard that for the comfort of drivers and the safety of users, a section is not started until the one being worked on is completed, and that, in addition, the resurfacing is being carried out at night “to reduce the impact on traffic.”
Arriaga also recalled that the works “advance an average of one kilometer each week, improving the safety of this important road in Tenerife every day.”
As usual, the work is carried out at night, between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., in order to increase the safety of the works and reduce inconvenience to drivers.
This week’s rehabilitation begins, specifically, this Sunday at the Vía de Ronda junction, in the direction of Puerto de la Cruz. For this reason, exit 8A is closed, and drivers who want to use it have an alternative to exit 7A towards Santa Cruz, through the Las Chumberas junction. Likewise, on Monday the 18th, the asphalting of the road will be carried out again at the Vía de Ronda roundabout, which will remain closed, so the alternative will be through exits 8B and 8A from Lora Tamayo.
On Tuesday, the 19th, work will resume again on the Vía de Ronda link from the TF-13 itself to Puerto de la Cruz, so it will be necessary to circulate through exits 8B, Lora and Tamayo.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday, the 20th, cars will not be able to access the TF-5 towards Santa Cruz from the Vía de Ronda, so they must use exit 8, towards Santa Cruz in Lora and Tamayo.
Finally, on Thursday the 21st, the works will be transferred to the Casa Cuna junction, in the direction of Puerto de la Cruz, so said exit 3A will be closed to traffic, as will the access from it to the TF-29. The alternative will be by the TF-1 through Polígono del Mayorazgo and exit 1 next to Pabellón Pancho Camurria.
