SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 14 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Cabildo de Tenerife collaborates with the Coordinating Association of Non-Governmental Development Organizations of the Canary Islands (CONGDCA) in holding the conference ‘Implementing the Sustainable Development Goals’, with which it is intended to reinforce and disseminate the actions that are being carried out out in this area.
Financed through the delegated area of Foreign Action of the Cabildo, which is directed by Liskel Álvarez, the conference will take place from April 19 to May 12 and is aimed at different areas and sectors of society.
According to the minister, these meetings are especially important for the cooperation carried out by institutions, such as the Cabildo, in emerging countries, where compliance with the Sustainable Development Goals is key to favoring their progress.
Different organizations and business, educational and public administration sectors of Tenerife will participate in the sessions, together with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) of social representatives and international development cooperation, they will inform and propose the strategies and initiatives that are being carried out carried out or that are intended to be given to the fulfillment of the SDGs.
The program includes several round tables, some face-to-face and others virtual, in which the participants will present the specific initiatives that they are developing from their work areas.
The first of the sessions on Public Administrations and SDGs will include the participation of representatives from different public administrations: the Tenerife Island Council, the Government of the Canary Islands and the Canarian Federation of Municipalities, together with representatives of the Coordinator of Spanish Development NGOs and the Coordinator of Development NGO of the Canary Islands.
The table will take place this Tuesday, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., at the Príncipe Paz hotel in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
The next face-to-face session on International Development Cooperation will take place on May 12, at 11:00 a.m., at the Cabildo de Tenerife.
Through the zoom platform you can also follow the workshops: Business and Socioeconomic Development, on April 27; Educational Field, on April 29; Environment, on May 4; Third Sector-Social Inclusion, on May 9 and the session on Equal Opportunities between men and women, on May 11, will complete the work calendar.
