SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 14 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Confluence Table of Doctors and Physicians of the Canary Islands has decided to present a strike notice due to the refusal of the Regional Government’s Health Minister, Blas Trujillo, to negotiate the consolidation places.
In a statement they lament their exclusion from the work tables approved by the Government of the Canary Islands and the unions of the sectoral table to identify the places for the merit contest and the
opposition contest that allows the law of stability of the public sector, and they hope that Trujillo responds on Monday to their proposal with the catalog of places.
The platform insists that “it does not feel nor has it ever felt” represented by the traditional unions of the Health Sector Board for their “refusal” to defend their postulates to the point that they had to organize themselves to constitute a Committee at the time of Huelga and a new union, which have also been denied their presence at the sectoral table.
They also point out that 75 percent or more of the staff of
doctors and doctors are made up of temporary staff and the Canarian administration “has not complied” with the internal legal system by not convening more than one OPE “in twenty years, when it should have done so at least every two, nor has it complied with the European legal system as the jurisprudence of the Court of Justice of the European Union has already reiterated”.
Thus, they indicate that it is the president of the Canary Islands, Ángel Víctor Torres, who has to provide an “effective solution” in order to
preserve jobs in accordance with the law, which is why they point to him as “solely responsible” for calling the strike.
