A former seminarian from the Minor Seminary of La Laguna, in Tenerife, faces a trial for discovery of secrets next May after stealing intimate information from some 40 colleagues taking advantage of their knowledge on the Internet and new technologies.
The events, according to Radio Club Tenerife, date back to 2018, when the Computer Crime Brigade of the National Police opened an investigation that concluded with access to all the information collected by the former seminarian, which he then used to threaten those affected with publish it.
The Bishopric of the Nivariense Diocese (of the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife) has issued a statement in which it indicates that it was the rector of the center who reported to the Police a possible computer crime that, at this time, is in the judicial process. .
In addition, he encourages anyone who is a victim of abuse or knows of one in the Church to file a complaint with the public prosecutor and with the Office for the Protection of Minors of the diocese.
