The island councilor for Roads, Enrique Arriaga, confirms the improvement of the landscape of the road that connects the motorway to the entrance of Güímar, some “actions that help to recover the spaces that were degraded by the construction of the TF-1 and improve their environmental value while reducing the carbon footprint associated with maintenance»
The action will increase the area of green areas by planting native plant species with their own irrigation system, which in turn contribute to reducing the carbon footprint on the TF-61 island road and its margins for two months. Arriaga explains that “these actions help to recover the spaces that were degraded by the construction of the TF-1 and improve their environmental value while reducing the carbon footprint associated with maintenance.”
According to Arriaga, “to provide these areas with environmental and landscape value, the native flora of the area is used, taking into account water consumption and its capacity to absorb carbon dioxide to reduce the carbon footprint associated with maintenance.”
