The Municipality of Los Realejos allocates 23,000 euros to the municipal aid for the improvement of livestock farms in the locality, which can be requested until next May 9. Actions that result in the improvement of environmental quality and the animal welfare.
The Department of Rural developmentdirected by Alexis Hernandez (PP)reconvenes for the second consecutive year this line of aid for local farmers, “which tries to contribute to the improvement of the economic results of the local livestock farms, facilitate its restructuring and modernization and doing so for the benefit of the environment and animal welfare, thus improving the quality of the farms and the products obtained from them.”
«Issues such as the acquisition of machinery, livestock equipment and improvements in farms located in the municipality belonging to the subsectors are subsidized. cattle, pigs, goats, sheep, poultry, beekeeping and rabbits, which favors the increase and recovery of livestock censuses and the increase in local production. This also reduces dependence on the import of basic food products and is committed to a zero kilometer economy”, according to the mayor of Los Realejos, Manuel Dominguez (PP).
All natural or legal persons whose main activity is linked to the primary sector, registered in The Realejosand owners of livestock farms also located in the locality that are not self-sufficient, are registered in the Registry of Livestock Farms of the Canary Islands and are up to date in complying with tax obligations.

Actions such as the improvement of the overall performance and sustainability of livestock farms, the improvement of warehouses or the facilities of livestock farms, as well as the acquisition of new machinery and equipment, the maintenance of structures for waste management and by-products in the production phase, improving the energy efficiencyimprovements that reduce energy consumption or mechanisms for preventing adverse effects due to extreme events related to climate change.
The restructuring of livestock buildings with reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, improvements in livestock feed storage, investments in farms to adapt to European regulations, modernization and mechanization that reduce production costs and improve labor productivity.
As stated in the bases, Other investments such as the acquisition of animals, purchase of real estate or land, major works, purchase of equipment or machinery outside the production process will not be subject to this subsidy.acquisition of vehicles, current expenses such as expendable material, enclosure of farms, among others.
For the call in question Municipality of Los Realejos allocates 23,000 euros of the current budget year 2022, which may be prorated among the beneficiaries of the same according to the concession criteria and scale established in the bases and in no case exceeding 50% of the eligible investment, with a maximum of 2,000 euros per beneficiary person.
Applications can be submitted by natural persons in person at the Information and Citizen Attention Point (PIAC) of the City Counciland by individuals and legal entities also through its electronic headquarters or through the ORVE system of virtual registration of public administrations or the SARA network.
