A fire in some booths causes three cylinder explosions in Tenerife

Firefighters from the Tenerife Consortium intervened yesterday morning to put out a fire in several wooden huts located in a vacant lot located between the Bajo La Cuesta neighborhood and the Las Caletillas power plant, in the municipality of Candelaria, where three cylinders exploded of butane. The fire allegedly started accidentally in an enclave where a large amount of garbage and all kinds of belongings accumulate. It happened in a plain where, years ago, residents of Bajo La Cuesta camped after being evicted from their homes.

In this place, a few meters from the sea and separated from the power plant by the bed of a small ravine, lives a citizen of sub-Saharan origin, who has collected objects of very diverse characteristics, from musical instruments to gymnastic machines, and even , various pets. Yesterday a sheep, several hens and various chickens could be saved, according to sources from the security and emergency services. In addition, no people were injured or affected by smoke inhalation in the event. And that, according to sources, there were three explosions of butane cylinders.

The fire affected four of the existing eight wooden huts. They are semicircular structures. In addition to the firefighters, the Local Police and the Civil Guard also intervened.
