The second section of the Provincial Court of Tenerife has sentenced a man to more than 40 years in prison for practicing cyber sexual harassment –grooming– five minors and one young adult.
The man, who is in preventive detention, used his job at a Candelaria telecommunications company to access customer SIM cards and from there, without leaving a trace and maintaining anonymity, he contacted the victims through the application ‘WhatsApp’.
The five minors live in Malaga, Seville, Martorell and Móstoles and the oldest in Badajoz.
The sentence, made public this Friday, states that the events occurred between May and August 2020 when the man began to contact the affected women and after convincing them that he had access to the intimate images of their mobile terminals, he forced them to undress and masturbate. .
The man acknowledged the facts in the trial and apologized to the victims and the Court sentenced him to three crimes of sexual harassment of minors under 16 years of age, three crimes of sexual harassment of minors under 16 years of age, one crime of sexual harassment of minors 16 years, a crime of corruption of minors and a crime of attempted sexual assault.
In addition to the prison sentences, he is sentenced to pay 69,000 euros in compensation to the victims, supervised release for ten years, impossibility of approaching the victims within 500 meters and five years of disqualification from carrying out activities or trades related to minors.
An appeal can be filed against the ruling before the Civil and Criminal Chamber of the Superior Court of Justice of the Canary Islands (TSJC).
